19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback Medvedev secured his initial title for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a torrid season, achieving just one match at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term mentor Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial trophy since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface after spring of that year.
Success also means he has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, including in Halle previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and regular outbursts on the playing surface had prompted observers to doubt if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.
However the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and perform positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
He came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the last five points to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped break points in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden professional victory, gained dominance to push for a final set.
Moutet saved 4 early break points in a close deciding set before Medvedev broke to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, the winner secured the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
