The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been intense.
Season 1 presents a diverse group of characters living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.
The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner stated recently. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.
That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 moves, and how much of what they're anticipating happens this season.
"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.
"I've seen a couple people create a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
